Motorcade or iring-iringan is the formation itself — the vehicles travelling together. A motorcade without escort has no special standing on the road.

Why the distinction is practical, not academic

A client who books “a motorcade” has bought vehicles in formation. A client whose movement is escorted has a lawful basis to be given way. The first is logistics; the second requires the police.
