A police escort in Bali is booked through four published coordination packages: USD 268 for a one-way bike escort, USD 338 for a full day of twelve hours, USD 423 for a one-way Alphard bundled with escort, and USD 620 for a full-day VIP car with a full-day escort. Those rates cover our coordination, vehicles and chauffeurs. The escort itself is granted by police permission.
We publish a fixed card rather than inventing a fresh number for each movement. A protocol desk that improvises its pricing tends to improvise other things too. There are four packages and no fifth figure. If you are ever shown an hourly rate, a tiered discount or a rupiah equivalent attributed to us, it did not come from this desk.
| Package | Scope | Rate (USD) | Typically used for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bike Escort — One Way | Single-direction escorted movement | 268 | Airport arrival or departure, one signing ceremony, a single hospital transfer |
| Bike Escort — Full Day | 12 hours | 338 | Multi-stop land or factory inspections, conference days, wedding convoys |
| Bundling — One Way Alphard + One Way Escort | Single direction, chauffeured Alphard-class vehicle with escort | 423 | A principal landing at Ngurah Rai transferring to Nusa Dua or Ubud |
| Bundling — Full Day VIP Car (12 hours) + Full Day Escort (12 hours) | 12 hours of vehicle and 12 hours of escort | 620 | Investor delegations, government guests, full ceremonial programmes |
Every package includes the official police motorcycle escort, a professional driver on the vehicle packages, fuel and parking fees, coordination and route management, assistance for smooth traffic navigation, and priority road access where permitted by the authorities. The same figures appear, unchanged, on our rates page.
This is where most enquiries go wrong, so it is worth stating without decoration. The escort itself is a police function, carried out by traffic-police personnel who are assigned to it. It is granted by the authority on assessment, after permission has been obtained, which means it is never automatic and never guaranteed in advance. What our rates cover is the civilian half of the movement: the application dossier, the protocol handling, the route survey and timing plan, the vehicles, the chauffeurs and the operational readiness that must already exist before an escort is worth requesting at all. That is the work you are paying for. It is not the price of a police officer.
Put another way, you are engaging a desk to prepare, submit and run a movement correctly. You are not buying a decision.
| Inside the published rate | Outside the published rate |
|---|---|
| Preparation and submission of the escort application to the competent traffic-police unit | The authority’s decision, which remains discretionary |
| Route survey, timing plan and rehearsal of the sequence | Any promise of approval or of a particular officer allocation |
| Chauffeured vehicle and professional driver on vehicle packages | Hours beyond the twelve-hour window |
| Fuel, parking fees, coordination and on-ground liaison | Special route requests raised outside the agreed plan |
A one-way package prices a single movement from A to B. It suits a landing at Ngurah Rai followed by a transfer to Nusa Dua, roughly twelve kilometres via the Mandara toll road, or a departure run timed against a check-in cut-off. If that is the whole requirement, the one-way rate is the correct instrument.
The full-day package covers twelve hours and is the better value whenever the programme involves more than one leg. Two separate one-way movements cost materially more than a single full day, and a day booking also removes the scheduling friction of releasing and re-summoning a movement. Delegation itineraries almost always break this way: airport, hotel, site inspection, notary or government office, dinner. Once a third stop appears on the itinerary, the full-day figure is the one to plan around.
The bundled packages exist for the same reason. Splitting the escort from the vehicle means two suppliers, two briefings and two points of failure at the kerb. Bundling puts the chauffeur and the escort request under one coordinator, which is what an executive assistant is actually asking for when they enquire about a Bali airport escort transfer.
Three things, and we flag them before they are incurred, not after. Extended hours beyond the twelve-hour full-day window are chargeable. Special route requests, meaning changes to the surveyed and approved plan, may carry an additional charge because they alter the coordination that has already been submitted. And rates are subject to change without prior notice, so a quotation issued for one date is not a standing offer for a date six months later. Advance reservation is required in every case, and all bookings remain subject to police authority approval and availability.
You cannot pay for the escort. You can pay for the coordination and the fleet around it. The distinction is not marketing language, it is the structure of the law. Article 134 of Law No. 22 of 2009 on Road Traffic and Road Transport sets out, in priority order, which road users may be given priority, ending with convoys and vehicles for particular interests according to the assessment of Indonesian National Police officers. Article 135 then makes the point that decides every enquiry on this page: that priority is exercised after permission has been obtained from the police. Perkap No. 10 of 2012 places the escort itself in the hands of specially assigned traffic-police personnel.
Bali Police have spoken publicly on this. In March 2024 the Head of Public Relations of Bali Police, Kombes Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, described escorting as a public service available to citizens and visitors, said requests should be submitted in writing in advance to the local police unit, noted that urgent requests may be raised directly with officers where appropriate and no other duties intervene, and stated that it is not to be arranged for money. Our rate card sits alongside that, not against it: we are paid for the application, the protocol and the civilian convoy. The full statutory picture is set out on our legal basis page.
Take the bike escort alone when your principal already has a vehicle they trust, whether a company car, an embassy vehicle or a hotel limousine, and what is missing is the front of the convoy. Take a bundled package when the vehicle standard matters as much as the movement: Alphard-class comfort, a driver who has walked the route, and a single briefing chain. Investor site visits, government guests and medical transfers usually take the bundled form, because in those movements the interior of the car is part of the meeting.
A firm figure takes one exchange. Send us the date, the arrival or start time, every pickup and set-down point in sequence, the number of vehicles required, the number of passengers, and the purpose of the movement, since the purpose is what the traffic-police unit assesses. We will confirm which of the four packages applies, what the timing plan looks like, and what remains subject to approval. Bring us the request early: written applications submitted in good time are treated differently from requests raised the same morning. The sequence itself is explained step by step in how to request a police escort in Bali.
To open a file for your movement, message WhatsApp +62 811-2859-0000 or write to [email protected] with your date and route. You will receive a package confirmation and a timing plan, with a clear statement of what has been submitted to the authority and what still awaits their decision.
